Problems with Hardware Detection

In our physics lab we have a computer with both scope and function generator cards. We encountered an odd problem with the hardware last week. The front panel software for function generator (I believe) was locking up, so some programs that loaded when Windows started were disabled. This fixed the lockup, but afterwards, the front panel did not detect the function generator card. We reenabled some programs we thought might be necessary, but this did not resolve the situation. Also, MAX did not detect either card.

What kind of scope and function generator cards do you have?  Make sure that the "nidevldu" service is started - you can configure this in Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services or you can run "net start nidevldu" from a command prompt.  You could also try reinstalling the drivers.
