op-amp as a Integrator

Dear sir,
 I have one doubt in op-amp as a integrator. How the sine wave is converted to cos wave, please explain the working and give me the analysis of the integrator.

Hi Vinoth,

Are you using any specific piece of hardware or is this more of a theoretical question not related to National Instruments products? Do you need a piece of hardware that will do this?

Hi Vinoth,
The role of integrator, just as simply as the word says, is to perform Integration. From the theory of calculus, we know that :
 
int (cos(t)) = sin (t)  + C.
int (sin(t)) = cos (t) + C.
 
where 'int'  =>   indefinite integral and C is just an arbitrary constant.
 
Hence, when the op-amp is acting as an integrator, if the input signal is a sine wave, the output signal is the integral of sine wave , which is, cosine wave.

Dear Sastry Vadlamani,

              First of all I would like to thank to you sir for giving me the explanation for the integrator circuit. But still I have a confusion with it if you could clear me this , i hope it will be helpfull. How the op-amp is integrationg the sine wave , please explain me with an example.
