How do I save numeric formatting in SignalExpress?

I'm relatively new to SignalExpress, though searched for this in the forum without success. I'm see how to customize the numeric displays in my application from the apparently default Engineering format to my preferred SimpleDouble with Precision of 1. But after saving my project and re-opening the file, everything reverts to the defaults. Is there a way to save my custom formatting or change the defaults?

Hi Paul,

Unfortunately, there is no way to change the format or precision of numbers saved in any version of LabVIEW SignalExpress.  If you want to manipulate the number of digits after the decimal place or change the format of the numbers, you must do so in a separate program such as Excel.

You are, however, able to change the format and precision of the Data View by right-clicking on the display and selecting Properties.  This will not effect the format or precision of the actual data points that are acquired with SignalExpress.  This will only effect the format and precision of the X and Y axis.

Thank you for your comments. I am familiar with changing the format and precision in the Data View by selecting Properties. However, when I save my project and then re-open it at a later time, the changes I made to the Data View items' numerical formatting are lost and each display reverts to Engineering format. I'm hoping to find a way to retain the appearance I customize for each of the gauges, meters and displays used in my Data View tab (the titles, fonts and scales are preserved when I  save the project, but the numerical formats are not).

Regards,

Hi Paul,

I was able to save and maintain my Format and Precision settings made in the Display Properties.  What version of SignalExpress are you using?  Could you possibly attach an example project in which these settings have been changed and saved, and also a screenshot of how these settings should look?

I'm using SignalExpress 2009, version 3.5.0. I've attached a couple of screen shots and an example project. After changing the display formats to SimpleDouble or Generic (as noted in the pdf file) and saving, the re-opened project reverts to Engineering formats throughout - thus the attached project may not show how I entered the desired formats. Any suggestions you can offer are welcome.

Thanks,

Paul
