Why does not SignalExpress find the DAQPad-6020E

Hi

I am a NI beginner and need some help. I have an DAQPad-6020E that I would like to use for data acquisistion. Thus I installed SignalExpress 3.0 which could not find the device. Then I read somewhere on these pages that my NI-DAQ drivers should be updated, they are now 8.8. What else should I do? SE does not find the device.. I guess it has something to do with the fact that the HW is old.

MAX finds the device and the TestPanel works fine.

I still need help. I have installed the 7.4.4. Ni-DAQ Traditional drivers and tried with SE 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 with the same result "No device found"

I must be missing out somethng.

Hello Sara,

If you look the readme for DAQmx it shows that the DAQPad-6020E is only supported with Traditional DAQ.  You did the right thing by installing Traditional DAQ to get support for your DAQPad, but this device is currently not supported by DAQmx.  LabVIEW SignalExpress uses an interface similar to express VIs in LabVIEW to configure data acquisition and data logging.  Traditional DAQ does not have support for this functionality in SignalExpress.  In order to use LabVIEW SignalExpress for your data application you will need a device that is supported by DAQmx.  If you would like to stick with the DAQPad-6020E, you will need to use another API (such as LabVIEW) to use this device.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi again!

Thanks for your answer .. now I know that I do not have to try anymore with SignalExpress. Then I have to use LabView as you write. I have tried LabView 8.2 and the DAQ assistant can't find the device.

Which version of LabView should I install in order to use the DQPad6020
