importing tdms data into singalexpress

Hello, I'm having trouble viewing my logged data from another project...

I have one computer running SignalExpress that is monitoring the channels of a DAQ card. I want to open the data in SignalExpress on another computer, but when I do File->Import->import Logged Signals from SignalExpress TDMS file...
and navigate to my data folder and click "current folder", instead of a time stamp for the data log I get "New Group" created in the Logs window. Dragging this "new group" into the Data View window does not produce any results.

I think this is a problem with the data recording, as this only happens for data that does not have a meta file. It appears that data logs normally have 3 files: tdms, tdms_index, and _meta) where the meta file is missing here. Also, when the meta file is missing, I am unable to successfully export the data to an ACSII file. Exporting to ASCII only creates an empty file.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

Hi,

Are you trying to import the log into the other project while logging is still in progress in the first project? If yes, it is not going to work. When importing a log into a project, SignalExpress reads properties from the imported file (such as the length of the log, its original timestamp, etc...) to be able to view it properly. These properties are only written into the file when the logging operation completes, which is why a log in progress cannot be imported into another project.

Thanks for the response but that's not the case:
I am stopping the logging and saving the project before copying the logged data.
I am then copying the two files found in the logged data folder: Digital Input.tdms & Digital Input.tdms_index, and importing them into a new project where I get them added as "New Group" and cannot view the data in any way.
