Did you mean:

too big size of the seproj file

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I created simple SignalExpress 2.5 project. I've been using this file some time and each time I did some changes I simply saved this changes.

Then I found out that the size of my *.seproj file starts to grow. It has now 100 000kBytes and I don't know why !

Each time I only open it (not run, just open) and then save, it is bigger.

Is it a bug ? I was lookinmg into Tools/Options to check if setup is OK and couldn't find anything what can help me.

Is there a way to "optimize/defragment/or whatever" to reduce the size of the file ?

Best Regards

PS: attached is my zipped project file (size 2 700kB) when you unpack it it will have 100 000kB

Update: In Tools/Options/General/Enviroment -> "Save signal values with project" is set NO. This doesn't help.

This is caused by an issue in an underlying shared NI component.  This component has been fixed and we will post a link when it is released.

To reduce your filesize, you will need to create a new project (.seproj) and recreate the contents of the old project.  You should be able to copy/paste your Steps from one project to another, but you will need to recreate the Data Views.  Your file size will again increase with each save of the new project until you have the new version of the shared software component.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

The updated shared component is included as part of the NI-DAQmx 8.9 distribution:

http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/fn/p/sn/n23:3478/lang/en

If you do not need the DAQmx driver, you should be able to run the distribution and disable the NI-DAQmx 8.9.0 feature from the feature tree.  The shared component should still get upgraded.

This fix will also be available in the next version of SignalExpress.

Hello Jason,

Thanks very much for support. Will download it, install it and try it.

I'm using NI USB-6216 so I will also install DAQmx driver.

Best Regards

Stefan
