Hello,
I am very sorry to do this but the upcoming user group meeting on 9/21/2010 has been canceled.
The reason is not enough people registered through NI. If NI doesn't get enough people to register it is hard to justify the meeting.
The SEMLUG is one of the best attended user groups. I don't know why attendance has dropped.
Please let me know what we can do to improve attendace. More interesting topics, different day/time, are people receiving the email's from NI to register?
I really think the user groups provide a lot of value, and I think our past attendance shows that. Please let me know what we can do.
Thanks
Dan

I guess I wrongly assumed that I had registered for this.
I just went to NI -> events -> events near you and tried to register.
It let me submit a request to register. Does this mean I was not
previously registered?
Is it possible that the re-schedule resulted in removal of previous
registration?

Hi Dan,
For me it is the time of the meeting...early morning or late afternoon
would work a lot better for me. I work in Rochester Hills so it would be
too much for me to go to work, leave and then come back. If the meeting
was at 3 pm or so, that would work better. The original date for this
last meeting was scheduled on a day after a holiday weekend...that
doesn't work too well. Many people have to get things moving again (in
other words, push people) to keep things on schedule after a long weekend.
Hoping to make it to a meeting soon,
Teri

Dan,
I'm guessing the problem is that not everyone knows they actually should
officially register through NI. I'm not sure if I did? I just make
note of the day and put it in my calendar. Maybe the notice needs to
outline the need to actually register through NI; sorry it was never
clear to me.
BTW: if you can spare 10 min or so during one of our upcoming meetings;
I wouldn't mind putting on a brief presentation on LV Tips & Tricks. I
was hoping to just do it with demos and code reviews if that's ok; or do
the rules require an official presentation with slides, etc.?
Thanks

Hello Milan,
Yes I agree the notice needs to outline the need to register. I just kind of took it for granted. I will do that in future notices on anouncments.
Sure you can present on tips and tricks! Demos and code reviews are fine. All I ask is you post the code (or whatever is postable) on our comunity site.
