NISE unable to complete 1193 RF Switch routes

I'm having NISE problems.  I have configured two 1193 RF switches to be in independent mode.  I have configured a hardwire between com0 of the first switch (rf_1) to channel 7 of the second switch (rf_2).  I am trying to connect a route that will go from rf_1/ch0->rf_2/com0.  So basically I have daisy chained the two rf switches.  The problem is that when I click on the routes to connect, NISE just hangs there.  It seems to be trying to configure the path between the two end channels but nothing happens.  Under the Windows task manger it shows that NISE is using about 50% of the CPU, so it is still running doing something.  I have let it run for about 45 minutes and no changes.  It is only suppose to be determining the path for the routes but it is taking an extremely long time.

What could be the problem?  If I manually enter the paths it accepts it and is able to validate the path but it cannot do it on its own.  Any idea what's going or how I can fix this problem?

You are asking something to NISE that will take a very very long time. They are tons of route paths NISE needs to try in order to find the right path. The independent topology should not be used in this case.

If you are only routing channels to coms, you should be using a Mux topology and you should mark some intermediate channels as reserved for routing.
