Switch Executive Version Compatibility

Greetings,

We have the following installed on our system:

MAX version 4.7.2

Switch Executive version 3.0

Test Stand Version 4.2.1

We have created TPS sequences and configured a pickering switch matrix and NI SPST, SPDT and multiplexors using the Switch Executive. Our client uses Test Stand 4.1.1. We have been converting our 4.2.1 scripts to 4.1.1 for our client's use with no problems. We want to send them our switch matrix exports so they can import and use them.

Can our client install Switch Matrix version 3.0 and Max version 4.7.2 with their Test Stand Version 4.1.1 and import and use our Switch Matrix exports?

Are their any other incompatiblity issues to look out for? We are essentially going backward because our customer has baseline 4.1.1.

Thanks

Minesh

Hi Minesh,

I researched the compatabilty of Switch Executive, MAX and TestStand. The following issue was the only one I was able to find:

126503

Return
NI Switch Executive 3.0 returns incorrect route state
When you use NI Switch Executive 3.0, the SwitchFindRoute expression function incorrectly returns available for the routeCapability parameter when the route is already connected.

Workaround: N/A

Reported Version: 4.0    Resolved Version: 4.2.1    Added: 05/26/2008

You shouldn't have a problem with exporting switch matrices.

Not related to the original question, but in regards to CAR 126503, the incorrect behavior is fixed in NISE 3.5.  A workaround is available in NISE 3.0, which uses a different findroute VI.  For correct findroute behavior in NISE 3.0, you can call this VI as a TestStand step.
