Hi...have a nice day...
I'm interested in make a project on Home Automation. I'm new on LabView..I really love it, but I'm just learning since de basics...It would be great if somebody could explain me how could I make a simple action with LabView: to turn on a light since a computer using a PDA Palm O.S.

 I' m interested in making a bluetooth conection between mi Palm and PC, so I can give the command of turn on the light conected in the pc from mi Palm....I have a Bluetooth device USB Dongle and Palm O.S 5.2

Hi fedemco,

Sounds like a fun and interesting project, but the Switch Hardware and Software board may not be the best place to post this inquiry (unless you decide to use National Instruments switching or NI Switch Executive in your application). 

One step in this project is to decide what type of hardware you want to use to control the light switch.  My guess is that you want to implement some form of 3-way switch so you can toggle the light's state physically or through automated means (LabVIEW).

Another step in this project would include interfacing from your PDA to the hardware.  Even if you cannot control the hardware from LabVIEW directly, there may be an indirect solution available so that you can still use the power of LabVIEW in your application.  I would post a similar inquiry on one of the software boards; perhaps LabVIEW or LabVIEW PDA?

Well..the hardware is not something very complicated...using an inductor- switch, a transistor,a resistence it wont be difficult to turn on the light...i just need to send a High voltage in a serial or parallel port when i send the signal from my PDA to the computer....im cheking your solutions...any way..seems to be the real problem is in the interfece pc-pda....im using a Bluethoot-usb module..

Hi fedemco,

Sounds like the only issue may be the PDA to PC interface.  If it's through wireless, it should be as simple as using TCP/IP in LabVIEW.  Once again, I recommend the LabVIEW forum for an example and/or elaborate response.
