Issues Upgrading SystemLink 19.0 to 19.5

When I upgraded our SystemLink Server from 19.0 to 19.5 the following issues occured:

  1. The license was lost - the server now says it is in evaluation mode
  2. All systems became ungrouped. The groups actually still exist, but when I try and add a system back into a group it gives me error code 400
  3. NetbookExecution Server is not starting

  1. I think the license files are tied to a specific version, so you will need to get an updated license file to activate the new version.
  2. Unfortunately, we recently discovered the same issue on upgrades.  If you remove and re-add the system it will allow you to group the system once again, or you can wait a week or so for the patch that we are working that will resolve this issue.
  3. A few customer have run into an NI Package Manager upgrade bug (if a file is locked when the old version is removed, but unlocked when the new version is installed it removes the new file after rebooting).  To fix the issue open the NI Package Manager, click on the gear icon and check "Show full version numbers and hidden packages", then select the INSTALLED tab and search for python.  Select the "NI SystemLink Python 3.7" package and click REPAIR.  Note this bug should be fixed in a future version of NIPM.

SystemLink 19.5.1 should be live if you want to download the patch to fix your remaining issue.  It should show up as an upgrade if you open the NI Package Manager on your server.

@JoshuaP does a minor version upgrade require a new license file? When we upgraded from 19.0 to 19.5 we had to obtain a new license.

Thanks for the update!

No, 19.5 to 19.5.1 uses the same license file, so you don't need to update it.

Ok cool. Somewhat unrelated, but I now see this error when trying to install the LabVIEW SystemLink Toolkit:
