Faulty SD Card Holder

Hi ...we have two RoboRios on which the SD card holders have stopped working...the spring-latch action no longer works.  How do we go about getting these repaired?  We have access to soldering, so if replacement parts are available, we are willing to swap the parts ourselves.

Will I be getting any response from NI on this thread?

Hi TimBD,

We apologize for the late response.

My name is Jessica with NI.

Have you tried with a different sd card? Sometimes they come with a sticker on them, if possible try to remove it and try once more.

Jessica,

We have tried multiple SD cards and all exhibit the same behavior.  The SD card holder on both of the faulty units have lost their ability to latch.  We can push an SD card into the slot, but it is not doing the normal latch motion to secure the card into position.  The only solution is to replace the SD card sockets, or replace the Rios.   If we can be supplied the SD card sockets, they appear to be through-hole soldered, and we have the ability to replace them ourselves.  Or, we are willing to RMA back to you.

This is not an issue with a particular SD card, to be clear. This is failure of the SD card mechanism on the Rio.  Please treat this issue accordingly.

Thanks,

TimBD
