Robo Rio 2 5v bus short

Our rio power indicator light went red we begin looking for a short. On the FRC driver station it said there was a 5v short. We found the short to be on the analog in rail. We took the cover of the rio and found the microprocessor(V13) that is excessively heating. We are unable to find were the short is and believe it is inside the microprocessor. We also thoroughly inspected it for metal shavings or imperfections and nothing was noted.  Please help us as we do not have the money for a new one.  What should we do?

Hi Whitman.robocats.2161

My name is Jessica, I'm with NI. Have you tried removing the case, turning the roboRIO upside down and shaking it vigorously? Sometimes metal shavings attach to the device and shaking it firmly might help in removing them.
