RoboRIO 2.0 6V Short

Hello,

In our first competition over the weekend, we experienced voltage drops and brownouts during a match and the robot became unresponsive.  CSA diagnosed it as a short on the 6V line.  We'd like to RMA

Thanks

Hello mmoleary,

Thanks for using the NI forums. Can you confirm you have already cleaned the device by opening it and using compressed air on its ports and pins, per the suggestions in FRC roboRIO Light is Red?

Normally a 6V rail fault can be attributed to some debris in one of these. Check inside the MXP port, as well, since it's the place where most problems are usually detected.

Let us know your results.

Thanks!

We did use compressed air to clean it as well as checked in all of the ports available with the CSA in pit admin, and problems persisted. They recommended that we RMA.

Thank you!
