RoboRIO 2.0 with Unrecoverable Fault

Solved!
Go to solution

I've been developing code on our RIO all morning without problems, and shut the unit off during lunch.  I came back, powered everything back up and noticed the RIO wasn't coming up on the radio like normal.  I look and it's flashing an unrecoverable error.  Several attempts to power cycle and reboot into safe mode have accomplished nothing.  Device doesn't show up on USB either.  Assistance appreciated!

Is there anything connected to the serial ports? (RS232, SPI, I2C, or via the MXP port)

If there is, and the rio is configured with "console out" enabled, it may be trying to communicate with these and entering an error state. (Test by power down, remove them, then power on - if that fixes the issue, use the imaging tool to disable console out).

If not - can you try re-imaging the SD card?

I disconnected all IO - CAN, I2C, and DIO.  No change.  I haven't tried manually reflashing the SDD yet.

Reflashed from Balena and we're up and running again.  Thanks!
