My customized Variant Ctrls

I like these but I won't be using them. Variants aren't really something I want on my UI. I understand they are useful for debugging, and so showing some variant data on a front panel can be useful. But in those cases I will opt to use the Variant Probe. An XControl that looks like a tree but displays anything really.

I use Variants mostly for data transfer. So they are on the cone pane, on the SubVI GUI.
A classic style Variant ctrl looks awkward among all other system style ctrls.

Yes I have Variants on the front panel of some subVIs, but those aren't seen in a built application. So I'm not interested in putting an effort into making the front panel look any specific way. If my SubVI could have no front panel, that's probably be fine in most cases. If you want to have subVI that have nice looking UIs then your controls will work great. I thought you were suggesting those controls for UIs that the user interacts with. Which is why I suggested the XControl.
