Sending emtpy payload XNET CAN frame in Veristand

Hello,

I am requesting your help as I don't understand how to send an XNET CAN frame with an empty payload in Veristand.

I have created a CAN frame with 0 payload, it appears well in the XNET editor (right) as well as in the Veristand System Explorer (middle), but not in Veristand itself (left)!

I also have tried to create a dummy signal inside the frame, it doesn't work. I keep receiving the following error from Veristand when deploying:

What would be the workaround to send an empty frame?

Thanks

"CAN frame with an empty payload" sounds like a remote frame. Have you tried setting the Timing Type to remote?

From https://www.kvaser.com/about-can/the-can-protocol/can-messages-23/

The Remote Frame is just like the Data Frame, with two important differences:

  • it is explicitly marked as a Remote Frame (the RTR bit in the Arbitration Field is recessive), and
  • there is no Data Field.
