VeriStand Input and Output blocks not appearing - LabVIEW Model Interface Toolkit

Hello, 

When using the VeriStand input and output blocks with the LabVIEW Model Interface Toolkit, the inputs and outputs do not appear within LabVIEW. Does anyone know why this is the case? When replaced with the Simulink Input and Output blocks, it works fine. However, the main reason of wanting to use the VeriStand blocks is so that I can access Inputs and Outputs within Simulink sub-models.
