Why Veristand so long to load ????!!

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi, I'm using VS 2011 SP1 on some Intel Xeon 4 cores 3,2Ghz with 8GB of RAM  PCs running Windows 7 64 Bits.

When I launch VS2011 SP1, it takes 1m30s before the display of the splashscreen.

What can be the causes of this slowly launch ?

There is one known issue which can cause VeriStand to load slowly due to network issues. Does your machine have a valid connection to the internet?

Hi

No, my PC is not connected to the internet.

Can it explain my problem ?

I experience the same problem, the machine has a network connection to only the target PXI and no internet connection. Additionnaly even when the gateway (VeriStand2001 SP1) is started the time for loading the nivssdf configurator is abnormaly hudge. The other difference with a machine that have normal response times is that no LabVIEW development package is installed but only the runtime engine.

Unfortunately that is known issue #360883

See it here on the known issues list: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/13509/en#360883_by_Date

It should be resolved in future versions of NI VeriStand. The problem has to do with getting "digital authentication" for our libraries from Microsoft. The authentication lasts something like 10 days... so if you reconnect to the internet and load NIVS. It should work without a problem for 10 days should your internet go away again.

You might be able to permanently work around the issue by placing the files inside the attached zip next to the similarly named EXEs on your computer.
