National Instruments VERY SLOW DOWNLOAD SPEED

SLOW! We are 100/100 and 1000 BaseT Ethernet. We are trying to reinstall products and it is taking forever. Unacceptable.  It has taken several ours for Kontakt Factory Library to get to 33%

It makes zero sense. We need an explanation as this is an issue across the board and has little to do with end user environments.

I am trying to download DAQmx installer. I am in Cambridge, MA... Download speed is 500KB/sec. NI downloads have been notoriously slow for years.

1. Can you tell me what link you are downloading DAQmx from?

2. Are you using a VPN?

You can also try installing DAQmx from the NI Package Manger (NIPM).

Do NI offer torrents of driver files? Is anyone aware of any Universities hosting these files?

Disappointing that a company charging such overhead can't achieve internet speeds from 2008.

EDIT: NI Package Manager doesn't appear to be able to find any compatible driver files, either.

NI does not offer torrent files for any downloads. Have you tried downloading a smaller file from NI as mentioned previously in the thread?

Also NI Package manager only supports DAQmx versions of 17 and above.

Not sure how downloading a smaller file would help me get the file I require. Doing so, however, speeds have been mixed, some slower some faster depending on the file. Downloading files from other sources concurrently with the NI files does not impact NI speeds, however, those other files download at MB/sec speeds.

Perhaps NI should make torrents available for the larger files, those which are already available from their website, so that users don't have to wait overnight, wasting time, or for them to mail a physical copy. I'm sure users would be happy to seed, for the sanity of others.

Hi all,

I'm located in Germany and experiencing the same issue. Downloading NI-DCPower and now reached 98Kbit/s over the Company Network and direct link to the US. Speedtest says me that I can download with a speed up to 80Mbit/s from US pages.

kind regards

Hey benedienst,

What version of NI-DCPower are you trying to download?

Can you share the link you are downloading it from?

Also, you may consider creating a new thread for your specific download and referencing this forum in it. That would give you more attention and the new request would be tailored to your issue specifically.

I'm using the link here:

https://www.ni.com/en/support/downloads/drivers/download.ni-dcpower.html#324409

Version 18.1.1 as you can see.

I finished the download from a Notebook which was not in use yesterday. Total download time was around 7 hours.

I still can create a new thread for this that we might do a deeper investigation and try to find out if other regions have the same issue with the download.

kind regards

Hey benedienst,

I tried downloading the file from my computer and it took about 5 minutes. I'm sorry to hear it took you so long to download the 2.1 GB zip file. It may have something to do with your computer or network.

You should create the new thread and ask if any other regions are experiencing similar issues with the download.

Best regards,
