This may seem like an easy question with an obvious answer to most people on here but here it goes...
I am in the process of buying two LV Developer Suites for a project. The project will include 2 PCs with development software - one PC for actual developing and another PC where the application will be run (remote location). I know I can just create an executable to run the VI on the application PC, but I still want the ability if needed to modify/edit the VI on the application PC. My question is, if the PC I'm developing on includes the Developer Suite Core and plus some addons and the application PC only includes the Developer Suite Core without those addons, if my the VI I created uses some/all of the addons, can I still run it on the application PC, or does it depend on the type of addons I'm using? (reasoning behind the two PCs not having the same LV Developer Suite software would be to save on cost; although, for my project so far, I am not sure what add-ons I need if any...just trying to plan ahead)
Thanks for any input regarding this question.

Hi E.B.
Depending on what you want to do with the development PC *after* deployment, you may only need a single copy of LabVIEW. Our typical licensing policy is to allow you to install LabVIEW on up to 3 machines, so long as development / execution is occurring on a single PC at a time. Find out more here: http://www.ni.com/license/licensing_options.htm
The trick is, if you want to be able to run the full copy of LabVIEW on the deployed PC (after application delivery), and continue to develop new applications on the development PC, you will indeed need 2 licenses. You will also need to have the same toolkits and modules that you use on both development and target PC.
One final thought - if the only thing you want to do is debug a pre-written application on the deployment PC, then you can get a "debug license". For pricing on debug licensing, please work through your local engineer or inside sales rep.
Please feel free to give me a call and talk about this more.
Best,
