increase wsn signal

I have WSN 3202 and using it to control automatic valve 100 m away (outdoor). I'm using 2 m antenna extension cable for gate way so the antenna can be installed outdoors and 0.5 m cable for node so it can be installed outside the weatherproof panel. Theres no interference between node and gateway but some how it have poor signal rate. In heavy rain, i often lost signal. I've upgraded the firmware to 1.2 and change the channel but this condition remains occured.

If i replace the antenna with wifi antenna than have higher gain, can it affect the signal rate?

If you replace the antenna with one with a higher gain, it shouldn't negatively affect the signal rate. The opposite should be true; the data transferred should be closer to the theoretical transfer rate.

Take a look at this article; it's a helpful overview of the different factors to consider in setting up wireless networks, and comments about why to be careful with physical cables, etc.

I hope this helps,
