ECU measurement and Calibration Toolkit with 3rd Party CAN interface

I'd like to use the NI ECU Measurement and Calibration Toolkit with a non-NI CAN interface.  Interface devices that support J2534 are very common.  Does the NI ECU Meas and Cal Toolkit allow this? If so, how does one go about interfacing another CAN interface to the toolkit?

The NI ECU Measurement and Calibration Toolkit supports National Instruments Hardware only.
