Hello!
The problem first show up when I wanted to try my program. When i clicked RUN
windows freezed. So i restarted the pc and whnen the OS was booting it freezed
again. In safe mode I uninstalled NICAN files and then pc normally boot up.
Ofcourse my program didn't work (depends on can bus)so I tried to install nican
driver. There wasnt problem with nican libraries anymore, but in the
hardware the driver for pci-can module was not installed.
The question is:
What is the problem: pci-can or soft?
Software: LabVIEW 8.6
NI Hardware: CAN device PCI-CAN Series 2
OS: Windows XP

Do you see a similar behavior on another PC? It sounds like some crazy PC issues and they may or may not be related to NI at all.

I'll try today because its the computer at my work station.
I've tried to install driver for the CAN from the windows device manager but when it started the PC froze.

Maybe it's the mainboard socket failure?

On the other PC the installation runs successfully.
I can configure my CAN card with NI MAX at all.
But I need it with my 1st PC.
Any suggestions?
I've 3 slots for cards and all (with ?broken?) are occupied.

Could be bad PC, motherboard, hard drive or who knows. Could be bad driver software install. Could be all kinds of things but it isn't the card and that is important to know.

I've used the same driver and the same OS.

Does that mean that the drivers were installed propertly on both PCs? Does that mean that one PC might be showing the signs of a hard drive corruption? Or motherboard component failing? It's hard to say without more informatin.

Only on the TEST PC installation was prperly.
When i tried to install CAN driver on MAIN PC there was the error after the process (I mean after the installation).

Don't you think that having errors during a driver install, is a very important piece of information that should have been shared? What was the error?
