PCI-PCMCIA adapters for PCMCIA CAN boards

I've already used PCI CAN Boards from NI with Labview (Labview 6.1, Windows 2000). I want to integrate a laptop into my system now,is there any problem if I change the PCI board to an equivalent PCMCIA board and keep the same Labview programs. Would I be able to use that PCMCIA board on a desktop computer using a PCI-PCMCIA adapter? Would any adapter work for that? Is there any incompatibility?
Thanks.

Greetings,

Your LabVIEW code written for your PCI boards should function properly with a PCMCIA card. Furthermore, you should be able to use a PCMCIA card in a desktop with a PCMCIA-to-PCI adapter. The KnowledgeBase linked below discusses some incompatibilities between NI DAQCards and PCMCIA-to-PCI adapters. It does not mention PCMCIA CAN cards, but may still be relevant information.

DAQCard Devices Fail to Recognize Through PCMCIA-to-PCI Adapter

Good luck with your application.
