how to connect the power to USB 8476 DB9 and UUT

Hi friends, I use 8476 as a master device, and UUT as a slave device, I connect the DB9 pin 9 to the external power supplier 12V+, and 12V- connect to DB9 pin 3 which is ground signal, and then connect pin 3 of DB9 to UUT's ground, and external power supplier 12V+ to UUT's Ubat pin.  And pin 7 of DB9 to lin data of UUT.

can anyone tell me if this connection is right or not? I'm fresh on the LIN. Thanks for your helping!
