Sorry for your loss, JB.

Our family lost our beloved 15 1/2 year old Westie, Jake, last October. Jake had survived having his hips rebuilt as a puppy and surgery to remove a lobe of his lung due to cancer a few months shy of his 13th birthday. The docs told us that his aggressive form of cancer would return and take him away from us within 9 months or so. He gave us love for more than two and a half years from his surgery, and not a day goes by when he isn't missed!

Thank you,

It was her call.  She earned the right to call it.  She earned it many times over!  Thank you.

As did Jake.  We knew the time was coming that we may need to make the decision, but he did it for us. Just wish my 13-year-old son hadn't been the one to find him when he got home from school.  Poor guy. He's got a new best friend in the dog we adopted from the Humane Society about a month later. And we still have our other Westie, who is six and let's little Elliott know who's the boss of the house. Ok- maybe 2nd-in-charge after my wife....

As someone who understands how it feels to loose one of our furry family members, let me extend my condolences to both Jeffs. I understand the idea of a dog with a sense of humor, I have one myself, Truman. And my older "sister" was a dog (my parents' first "child" was a German Shorthaired pointer)who  both helped to raise me and taught me some important life lessons about trust, loyalty and respect. Both of your friends sound like they had good, long lives in loving families.

For a book that will really yank at the heart of a dog lover, "The Art of Racing in the Rain" - Garth Stein, a novel of a difficult family dynamic from the viewpoint of a dog.

Currently working on an old LV8.6 project, when the context window suddenly started hiding the icon of whatever I was hovering over:

Made me chuckle, so I thought I'd share it. Smiley Happy

Spoiler
Shortly after that LabVIEW crashed. I hate it when customers refuse to let me upgrade their code - 8.6 is sooooo buggy Smiley Sad

Or puke all over the kitchen, like my hair missile decided to do last night.

Better there than on the carpet, I suppose...

Ours have always preferred to be standing on a soft carpet or rug when they puke. It would be so much easier to clean if they'd spew on the hardwood. Our poor carpets have been spot cleaned so many times.....

And the furry members of our homes differ in this respect from the young, bipedal ones in what respect? None of my dogs has ever thrown up on my shoulder as I was leaving for a meeting!
