CLA requirement tag - #[Covers: ID]

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I'm going to have CLA exam in couple weeks. I have a question related with requirement tag - [Covers: ID]. Can I write it in a form of "#[Covers: ID]" (with # character)?  I assume that automated tracking tool will still find those tags, but I would like to be sure 🙂

This way I could track my coverage with bookmarks manager.

There is a dedicated forum board for exam topics, you will get better help there:

Should I ask admin for moving my thread?

And I moved the thread.  Anyways...

I am mostly certain that Requirements Gateway will find those tags within longer comments.  If you have RG, go ahead and see if it shows up.

Hi Bienieck,

#[Covers: ID] will work with our RG scripts.

As long as the [Covers: ID] is there it will find everything in comments, VI documentation, etc.

Of course if the purpose of this is to track them with the bookmark manager, then you can't have a space in there, or else it will be seen as the end of the tag.  And removing the space may have the tag not seen by NI's automated search.

Hooovahh is correct, you'd have to do some work to tag each requirement #ID[Covers: ID].

Personally I recommend cutting requirements from the text document and pasting them into the VIs and using that as a list of items to still accomplish.

The tag in form of "#[Covers: ID]" will be good to check everything at the end of exam. Bookmarks are sorted so if i will have some typos (eg. [Coevrs: ID]) then I will be able to quickly find it and correct. IDs will still need my visual inspection 🙂 but I will have all of them in bookmarks.
