counting AO sample clock events

Hello,

with a m series (PXI 6229) and a s series (PXI 6122) board we are performing various analog in- output tasks. The (constant) sample clock of all these operations is available on a PFI line and a PXI trigger line. Here we also want to use counters for generating pulses after  a certain  number  of  analog in/output  operations,  e.g. to count the number of analog in/output operations via counting digital pulses on the PFI or PXI trigger line and  to generate  one  digital  pulse for example every 100 ticks of the analog in/output sample clock. We got this working under traditional NIDAQ and a different combination of boards, but with NIDAQmx things seem slightly different espcially with programming counters.

Does anybody have any idea?

Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Hello Werner

I found an example that maybe will help you. Look at this link:

I hope this helps

Hi Manuel,

thanks for your help!

The described method in principle works. The duration of the pulse however is  is very long (at least two ticks of the 'source of ticks' terminal at CO Pulse Ticks).  Is there a  method to get a ttl  pulse after a certain number of source ticks, which are also ttl pulses (in our case an analog output sample clock routed to a PFI line).

Thanks in advance!!
