dasylab stastics

I am new to using DASYlab.

I want to find the RMS of a signal over a varying period (based on predifined tacho counts from a seperate data channel).

I have used the COUNTER module that is reset using an ACTION module after a predifined number of counts, This seems to work OK.

I have used another channel on the ACTION Module to reset a STATSTICS module connected to the data channel but do not seem to get an out put based on the number of counts of the tacho.

any thoughts out there

Thanks

Hi,

The following link is to a company that supports Dasylab better than the NI engineers here.  I would also try the company that sold you Dasylab.  We specialise in the aquisition of data from our hardware and are a little less familiar with the statistics functions.

However looking at your problem it seems that the function will only work on a set number of values.  You might not be able to do as you have asked.

I have also attached some scanned pdf's (this took ages) that may help you out.

Thanx

Alan,

The Action module is usually asynchronous - using it to reset the Statistics works for slowly changing signals, but not necessarily for quickly changing signals.

There may be other ways to accomplish what you need - can you describe your data better? Sampling rate, frequency of the tacho signal, etc. ?
