Area Titles in View Layouts

Status: Declined

Hello

Thank you for your request. We understand your suggestion but given the age of this entry and the fact that just a few sponsors are supporting it, we have decided to decline this suggestion and prefer to develop more frequently requested features instead. We hope you understand this.

Greetings

Walter

At the moment if you want to give an area a title you have to create another area text to it and set the type to text box.

I believe an improvement would be to set the title for the area itself.  It would look neater and would take up less space.  Something like the new subdiagram label in LabVIEW 2012 perhaps.

Hi Martin,

I can understand the appeal of this feature request.  It's unlikely to make it into VIEW any time soon, though, because the focus in VIEW is interactively finding trends and viewing synchronization between different data sources.  The place to tweak the exact display of the data is in REPORT.  I have fumed for years that the REPORT panel should give 2D and 3D graphs a title field (like in Excel), such that the title would move and rescale with the graph.  You're asking for that in VIEW, not REPORT, but I'd like to take this opportunity to mention this idea again, because it's much more likely to make it into REPORT than VIEW.

Know that your request for VIEW now has a permanent home and will be evaluated along with all the other requests for potential inclusion in future DIAdem versions.

Hi Brad,

Thank you for the response.  If I had to choose then I'd definitely go for the title option in Report instead, I can see that being very useful.

Thanks,

Martin
