Access to Movie Soundtrack using DIAdem

Is it possible to access soundtracks from movies using DIAdem?

I'm acquiring video signals with an external video recorder. In order to synchronize image acquisition with data acquisition I'm thinking of using an acoustic signal generated with LabVIEW (i.e. a beep every 10 seconds) which is recorded together with the video signal. Like this, the beep would be available in LabVIEW as output signal and on the movie as sound.

For synchronization I somehow have to extract the audio signal from the movie in DIAdem and superimpose it with the original signal.

Is this possible? Does DIAdem have access to the soundtrack of the movie at all?

Hi Sandra,

DIAdem does have access to the soundtrack of the video formats it can synchronize with data in VIEW, but bear in mind that the soundtrack will only play if you are playing the video back in VIEW with a speed = 1, meaning the same speed the video was recorded at.  Any other playback speed will be silent.
