Direct access of DIAdem to the source of data

I have the Datafinder Server Edition installed on a remote server and index files on different computers in our network. When I use DIAdem to fetch the data return from a query, does DIAdem need to have direct access to the computer that keep the data?

DIAdem loads the data(files) directly from their original source - not through DataFinder. So yes, the computer/user on which DIAdem runs needs to have (at least read) access to the ' file server'.
