Hi All, many example files of DIAdem have a time channel called Time. Dragging and dropping the time channel and any other channel from the Data Portal to the View Tab and by selecting a 2D Axis System, DIAdem sets the Time channel as X and the other channel as Y, automatically. TDMS files created in my LV application have a time channel exactly as for many example files of DIAdem. However, when I create a 2D Axis System with one of my TDMS files, time channel is not recognized automatically. Here is the list of attributed of my channel: Name: Time Description: Time Channel Unit: s The only difference that I see between my filesl and example one is the data format. My time channel is a waveform while time channel in example files is numeric. Thanks all

Hello AC_85,
The general rule in DIAdem is that if you drag multiple channel from the DataPortal into a VIEW or REPORT layout, the first channel that was selected will be the X-channel (doesn't have to be time, could be anything you wish to display as the X parameter for a graph).
If you drag waveforms into a VIEW or REPORT layout, the time channel embedded in the waveform will be used, except when the first channel selected is a Numeric channel, in which case that channel will be used as the X-channel in your layout.
This example shows what happens if you have a numeric X channel and Y channels that are waveforms.
The ANALYSIS panel (channel functions library) has a function that allows you to convert waveforms into numeric channels and vice versa.
If you wish yo use a waveform as you X-channel, you can open the dialog where the channels are assigned (as shown in the image above) and drag a waveform into the "X-channel" box, DIAdem will then use that waveform as the X-channel. If a waveform is used as an X-channel, the time portion of the waveform will be ignored for both the X and Y channel assignments, basically it will be treated as if only the numeric portion of the waveform existed ...
