Replacement of numeric values with strings in TDMS

Hey guys,

does the TDMS file format offer the possibility to assign different strings to specific values of a channel?

I'd like to store channels with numeric values and replace some of them with strings. So I don't want to store them as strings directly. A simple example would be a digital channel, where I want to store 0 and 1 as integer values and replace them with “low” and “high”, when interpreting the data e.g. with DIAdem.

I didn't find any property or something else in the documentation, so I don't know if it is possible at all.

doing something like this. But I assume the text is stored in an additional channel.
