What DAQ Driver or MAX is needed for DIAdem 8.00 & HW: PCI 6034E

I want to mesure some date with DIAdem on PCI 6034E Hardware.

I have installed: DIAdem 8.00 and NI-DAQmx 8.5

1st ERROR:

When I start DIAdem 8.00 after 10sec without any doing or clicking DIAdem is closing themself!?

Error message in DEM_ERRS.001 File [GERMAN]:

1    **** Fehlerregistrierung am 27.04.2009 um 13:22:03 [Meldungsdatei:COMMON / Textarea:13 / Textnummer:1]
Objekt "tc1" unbekannt oder nicht offen.
ObjectErrorInfo: "#MDI#" tiefste offene Objektebene

2nd ERROR:

I can aviod this error by stoping the winsows service: NI Cinfiguration Manager

But now, when I try to use the NI Input in DIAdem DAC I have a new error! The message is I use the wrong (to old!) version of the Measurement Explorer (MAX)!?

Error message in DEM_ERRS.001 File [GERMAN]:

3    **** Fehlerregistrierung am 27.04.2009 um 13:23:49 [Meldungsdatei:GfSNIDAQ / Textarea:2 / Textnummer:24]
     Fehler aus DAC Hardwaretreiber "GfSNI-DAQ"
Es ist kein gültiger Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) installiert.
Dieser Treiber benötigt den MAX Version 2.00 oder neuer.
Bitte installieren Sie eine entsprechende Version des MAX auf ihrem Rechner.

I've also tried an older DAQ Driver: Traditional DAQ 7.41 unfortunately with the same effect I've described. ;(

Thanks for Helping!

Hello Andreas,

I don't have an answer, but I did want to throw something out there that might save you some grief and hassle trying to make this work.

DIAdem 8.0 was released in September 2001, or almost 8 years ago. This was before Windows XP, and DIAdem 8.0 was tested with Windows 95/98/NT 4.0 and Windows 2000.

The DAQ-mx 8.5 driver is from March 2007, so DIAdem 8 has never been tested with this version of the driver. There are older DAQ-mx versions, but I have no idea how/if they work with DIAdem 8.0 and the PCI 6034E.

You might be able to save yourself a lot of time an grief by using the current DIAdem version (version 11.0 is the latest release) and a current DAQ-mx driver version that has been tested with DIAdem 11. I doubt that anyone has much experience with running DIAdem 8.0 and DAQ-mx 8.5. Since the DIAdem version you use is very old and no longer officially supported by NI, I have little hope that we will be able to help figure this out.

Someone might have tried this before and be able to help you, but I am not very optimistic in that regard.

You can get a FREE copy of the DIAdem 11 demo DVD for evaluation here: http://www.ni.com/diadem/d/

And NI is offering upgrades from older versions here: http://ohm.ni.com/advisors/ua

I hope you find a solution, but your best chance is probably getting a current versions of the software and going from there.

I had one more iea that might provide some additional help

Check out http://www.diadem-forum.de/ and see if someone there can help you. Many more DAC users there, but it's in German only (which shouldn't be an issue for you from looking at the German error message you posted).

Thanks for your answers!

I have now deinstalled all new DAQ(mx)driver and installed NI-DAQ 6.9.3 Traditional Driver (includes MAX 2.2.0.3010) and DIAdem 8.0 works fine!
