That code looks like it will do the trick. While I don't forsee any damage that could be done routing your clock to the pin, I would take extra precaution to make sure it is connected to only the pin of interest and not touching a GND pin. If it does, your signal won't make it through. If you have a RTSI cable connector to use, that would probably be the best case for connecting to the board.
