Creating PRBS with 6551

Does anyone have any good ideas on how to create a PRBS bit stream with a 6551?  I am actually trying to create a LVDS PRBS with a 6551 but I think I have figured out how to do the LVDS but I'm not sure about the PRBS part.

Hi Brian,

          By far the easiest way of creating PRBS for the HS DIO series of cards is to use the Digital Waveform Editor Software from NI. It is really easy to use and you could have a PRBS file ready to use on this card in about 30 seconds, it really is that easy. This software comes packaged with all but the lowest memory option of the HS DIO range but can also be bought separately. If you have the full version of LabVIEW, you can use Analyze>Waveform Generation>MLS Sequence Waveform to generate PRBS.

Here is a link to an application note describing how you can interface to LVDS using the 6551.

In addition, here is a link to the NI 656x family of products, which are native LVDS.  They are based on the same architecture and use the same NI-HSDIO driver, so once you learn how to program the 6551, you already know how to program the 6561.
