Pyrometer Data Extraction into LabView

Hi

I have an infra red temperature measuring stand alone unit to measure high liquid alloy temperatures.

Essentially I would like to be in a position to pull the temperature readings from the unit without the suppliers software using NI hardware and LabView. The outputs of the pyrometer are USB and serial COM. I have no experience in how to achieve this! Or if it is possible. Hopefully this is possible and you can reccommend some literature or tutorials and what hardware will be required. Currently we have one WSN 3212 node and WSN 9791 gateway.

I'm not sure why you posted here instead of the Instrument Control board. In any case, you only need a serial port for the pc. Get a USB-RS232 adapter if your pc does not have built in ports. There are shipping examples that come with LabVIEW. Your mentioning of the wireless hardware is not relevant.
