What is the maximum digital transfer rate with a M-series Daq PCI board?

Hi,

We want to retrieve data from a spectrometer delivering digital data coded on 12 bits at a frame rate of about 100 kHz (one 12-bit parallel word every 10 us). The device also delivers a clock signal for synchronisation. I wanted to know if the boards from the M-series together with labview and a PIV2 GHz would be able to handle such a data rate. Else, what would be the best solution (6533?)?

Thanks,

E Motte, PhD student.

Hi,

Of course, you can acquire 12-bits patterns at a rate up to 10 MHz with a M-series DAQ device. There is 24 to 48 DIO lines on the M-series devices. You can configure a pattern acquisition hardware timed with an external clock. The choice is yours!
