I have an M series 6251 daq card and an E series SCB-68 connector box. I have a 0-5V pulsing signal which can be set between 80Hz and 1.25kHz. I want to use this signal as an input trigger. I have connected the signal to the PFI1 and used MAX to clock the pulses which it does nicely. When I connect the 80Hz signal to the analog input of the SCB-68 I have trouble picking up the pulses. I set the aquisition rate to 800Hz and 8000Hz and the pulses are picked up occasionally but not always. This puzzles me since the speed of the 6251 is 1Ms.
Essentially I want this signal to be the trigger for the rest of the program in Labview and can't figure out how to do it. In particular, I have tried using the DAQmx wizard. This seems to ask me to create a task name. I'm not sure how I create a task, what the task is used for or how it works.
Can someone advise?
