generate pulse train of 5khz

Hi,

I would like to generate digital pulses at 5khz oe less rate, any hardware recommendation? preferable usb and budget type.

I do have usb 6501, i try work on it, maximum output is 1khz the best. Is it possible to further up ?

Only two counter channels are available for such tasks.

Can i simultaneous use these 2 counter channel to generate different freq of pulse train let say 5Khz and 1khz?

My project is to generate pulse train at the same time monitor one of the IO, when receive high, i will going to stop the pulse train generation.

I have go through the example of daqmx for usb6210.

My question is when i stop and clear the task, does it mean that the pulse train generation will stop immediately or still need to wait all the pulse train completely output??

You can use each channel to generate pulse train at different frequency simultaneously, and pulse generation will immediately stop once the task is stopped.

i check the datasheet, it mentioned below:

• 16 analog inputs (16-bit, 250 kS/s)
• 4 digital inputs; 4 digital outputs; two 32-bit counters

as i need more than 4 digital output, can i change those 16 analog inputs become digital output OR 4 digital inputs become output?

No, you need to consider a model with more digital outputs. Another thing is that DIO shares signal line with counter. If you don't clearly state how many DIOs, and pulse generator you need, you may choose a wrong model.

There is ni 6008 / 6009, it do provide pulses train, right? but only 1 counters and more digital IO
