"The device is not responding to the selected base address." message under MAX

Installed a PCI-DIO-32HS into PC. Measurement & Automation Explorer 3.1.0.3021 has the board listed under Devices and Interfaces - Traditional NI-DAQ Devices. When I try to Test Resources under Properties or try to Run Test Panels, I get the message "The device is not responding to the selected base address" or I get the same message plus "Would you like to continue anyway?". The Device Number Attribute and the Serial Number are present. I have tried this same procedure on other PCI-DIO-32HS cards with no problems. Could the card be defective?

Hi Jeff,
There may be a problem with the board, but more likely it is an incorrect interaction with your computer's BIOS and OS or an unreleased handle for the board in another application. The following KnowledgeBase lists several troubleshooting steps to solve the problem.

If the problem persists on this board and not for others then the board is likely bad and can be sent to National Instruments for repair.
