Difference between Reference and Start in Triggering ?

Can anyone explain What is the difference between the Reference and Start when Triggering ? and when should you use them?
 
 
Any commets will be very much appreciated..

Hi,

Start trigger is the trigger signal used for post-triggered acquisition. The hardware starts the A/D conversions after the trigger is received.

Reference trigger is the trigger signal used for pre-triggered acquisition. The hardware starts acquiring data before the trigger signal is received.
