Hi Team,
I've got two USB-4065 DMMs with two different firmware version on it.
One has rev. J and the other has rev. H I just wonder if there is a way to downgrade from H to J ?
Did some research but couldn't found anything on this topic, so trying my luck on this forum.
Thanks and let me know if you need further info.
Cheers,
Bravi

Typically, the DMM driver would auto-update the firmware based on the support, users do not have to decide which version to choose.

Thanks Santosh for the reply.
On the PC, I've got NI-DMM 21.3 installed alongside LV 2020 and both revision of firmware running on the machine.
If I follow it right, I would have both DMM cards upgraded by the driver automatically to rev. J (the latest one).
Let me know if I've missed something.
Thanks,
Bravi

Where are you getting the firmware revision information? Could you post a screenshot? I am suspecting you are confusing hardware revision with firmware revision.
The firmware on the USB-4065 is bus-loaded by the driver when the instrument is plugged in and will follow the driver version.

Thanks Marcos for the clarification.
I got the info from the NI-DMM Soft Front Panel tool. Please find attached screenshots (removed the S/N as I'm posting it on the forum).
I read Firmware so thought of SW version but it could be HW revision ? Please clarify my understanding.
Thanks,
Bravi

Were the two screenshots taken on the same system?
If yes, then the field appears to be mislabeled and should say "Hardware Revision". Please check what MAX says to confirm.

Hi Marcos,
Yes they were taken from the same system.
Thanks for confirming the mislabelled thing, which means for us that a specific HW revision is required rather than a firmware downgrade.
Not sure where on MAX the firmware info is shown though.. As the 'Settings' tab is the only one available but looking at your previous post on this topic, I understand it's something downloaded by the NI-DMM driver itself when called/used by LV, is that right ?
Any chance there is documentation which highlights the changes between rev. H & J for a USB-4065 ?

Bravi

Hi Team,
Just wanted to close off this topic as the issue has been resolved on our end.
So we’ve got couple of NI DMM USB-4065 with different HW revision (H, J & L) : x2 of them are used on an ATE and we’ve got x3 spares.
Due to a mislabeled info. on MAX, we initially thought that different firmware revisions were used but instead it was HW revision.
The issue we had, was around measuring AC voltage, which was right with the H revision and wrong with J revision (with the same SW, LabVIEW in our case).
Along side the DMM cards, we’ve also got couple of other NI USB cards (6501, 6509, GPIB-USB) and all of them were initially connected to a hub powered by the computer motherboard.
We changed that setup by having external powered hubs (using mains basically) and now regardless of the HW revision the AC voltage measurement is always correct.
Thanks all for the support and I hope it makes all sense.
Cheers,
Bravi

Thank you for closing the loop and I am glad your NI hardware wasn't faulty.
