NI 6110 Example 2 doesn't provide scan interval and samples like it should

Hi Martin,

I'm curious about the nature of the signals you're measuring. What about them requires a 2 MHz sampling rate, done simultaneously? You also haven't mentioned any output requirements, so I'm assuming your real-time application is not a control application but something else. What physical system are you interfacing with?

As far as other/newer boards with QNX support, there are a few options in addition to the 6110. The 6124, 6132, and 6133 all have DDK examples with DMA-enabled analog input. If your timing requirements are more flexible, then the 6251, with a max sample rate of 1.25 MHz, may also meet your needs; it has DMA-enabled AI examples in the DDK as well. Looking at the web prices, the 6110 is the 2nd most expensive. Depending on how valueable your time is to the project, getting DMA working for the 6110 may push its cost higher.

|| Board     || Price (USD) ||
| 6110 [1]    |    3,150     |
| 6124 [2]    |    3,500     |
| 6132 [3]    |    1,900     |
| 6133 [4]    |    2,650     |
| 6251 x2 [5] |   1,150 x2   |

Hi Joe,

we want to analyze solid-borne acoustics and need a 2 MHz sample rate. The card is not supposed to have any kind of output.

Output is implemented in QNX in a different form.

We returned the loan (NI PCI-6110) yesterday.

We already have a NI 6115 card and I am testing my requirements in Labview for the time being.

It would be great if I could contact you in the future, regarding my original questions, if need be.

Best Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin,

Ok, great. I see the need for fast simultaneity 🙂 You are most welcome to continue posting in this thread or in the NI forums as you progress through your project. The 6115 does not have DDK examples, so porting your application to QNX won't be directly possible. If you do choose to use the 6115 in QNX, then the best way to get register-level programming information is by talking to your local NI sales engineer, who can work with us to implement custom engineering work.
