Do you use the mobile version of the Forums?

Wow! I didn't even knew there's a mobile version! Smiley Surprised

I connect with a HP/Palm Pre2 phone and the integrated web browser shows only regular forum view; no link to switch to mobile at the bottom of the page, too Smiley Mad

That's why I use it very seldom: the small screen makes a pain navigating the forum (as all non-mobile pages, after all Smiley Frustrated )

Is there a direct link to the mobile version I can test?

Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

When browsing on iPhone (iOS 4-6 over the past 2 yrs), the first order of business has always been to scroll to the bottom to change to "Full" version in order to interact with the full featureset.

That seems inconvenient! Android has a nice menu entry to "request desktop site". Here are before and after screenhots from my phone. As you can see, the resolution is plenty for the full site. (even better in landscape, not shown).

It is there on the iPhone. (Safari)

When I first saw the mobile version I posted 'Holy Cr@p', looks like I was half right...  Smiley Very Happy

Yep.. I can confirm that it is there at the bottom of the page when using the iPhone + Safari.

Interesting. Maybe you used it long ago once?

For me, this is actually normal. Since I am using chrome everywhere, all booksmarks, stored passwords, autofills, etc. are synced to the cloud.

Even of a freshly installed, brand new computer or phone, everything is right where I want it after logging into chrome. 😄

Chrome+cloud = That's interesting

I can't recall going into the forum using the iPhone, but maybe I did and don't remember.  I was surprised that I could post without logging in.

I was even more surprised when I saw my icon.

I must have logged in at some point and forgotten about it.  That's the most plausible scenario.

But I do like the mobile version.  Now that I know it exists, I may actually visit the forums more often.

However, I do recall signing in using the iPad and the devices are synced... That's probably it..

I Do use my Andriod to view the forums.   I prefer to view the forums in the "Full" version for the consistant views I am familliar with and because the Mobile version does not show embedded images.  The Mobile version is fairly useless for responding to posts with code snippets and, of course, I can't open an attached VI  (Hmmmmm... VI VIewer for mobile app!)

I do however, switch to the Mobile version to respond to posts on my android.  It is necessary since I have only a vitrual keypad and the dratted keypad does not show when I "Reply" from the Full version. Smiley Frustrated

I, too, use my Droid Incredible on the forums. Not often, but from time to time I do. I have a different problem, though. When I use the full site (which I do because I find the mobile site to be more difficult to manage) I have to reply with the "html" tab selected, not the rich text. This isn't that big a deal, but I can't split my replies into paragraphs without knowing the html for line feeds etc. Also, editing a post can be difficult from a phone for this reason, due to the text now having html tags around it etc.

This is what macros are for, the only one I have entered is "<p>&nbsp;</p>" which I use to start new paragraphs in HTML format.  I even use this now and then when the Idea Exchange gets into its linefeed eating mood.

My phone is smart enough to make phone calls and to display the time.

Somehow I do not feel any overwhelming urge to stay connected to the Forums at all times and places.  Sorry.

Amen to that.
