E-List

Hi all.

"Let's see if he can maintain this climbing rate over the next weeks" - No, he cannot.
I will be quite often "out of office" with no chance to access the forums (except for the very late evening or the weekend). But I will try to stay up-to-date and at least find the time to read the "forum-news".

Have a great day, Guenter

Ah-Ha... Another List reader ?

Welcome Guenter. You are trapped. No way you can escape.
Once declared, the LabVIEW addiction is so strong that without a daily dose of contributions you start stut stut stuttering, you lose your hair and worst cases may suffer of male impotence. Some victims even stay connected while in hospital.
The only way to get rid of this addiction is to follow a strict diet with sustained injections of C programming, but the treatment is cruel and relapses are frequent.

Not so good as a cure! You run the risk of becoming a CVI addict! Smiley Wink It's almost as dangerous as LV!

Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

Thanks for the friendly warnings, Charly.
I hope the effects of reading the forum articles do not typically end that awful as you said.
Maybe, you forgot to mention how long it takes for these anomalies to appear?

Have a successful day, Guenter

E-LIST n°22 - 2006

286/580 active Enthusiasts last week.  Big jumps, both in activity and in the number of Enthusiasts.
This result is mainly due to the integration of a number of forgotten Enthusiasts who where not detected during the last List update.  My apologies to these old newcomers. Last week, the best performers were Dennis Knutson, Ian Fung and Chilly Charly, with 6.86, 4.14 and 4.14 replies, respectively.

We have a pair of new Milers : Johnsold and Devchander. Anybody to welcome them ?

Ray Farmer has clearly decided to be the sixth Official Enthusiast and is leaving JLV in the dust. Again a fearce fight ? Should we bet ?

Our youngest Enthusiast is Clement G (again a frenchy), who registered mid-April and already gave 85 replies. As you can see if you sort the registreation date column, the majority of the most recent Enthusiast comes from NI.

The last survey, about one year ago, gave the following results :
......................Blue....Gold
Enthusiast number.....175.....259
Replies..............30789...57916
Replies/member........176.....224

The present situation is :
..........................Blue....Gold
Enthusiast number.........315.....265
Replies..................57512...83382
Replies(last year).......26723...25466
Replies/member............183.....314
Replies/member(last year).169.....267

I think we can congratulate NI for the efforts made to match the Gold Team support.

E-LIST issue n°23 - 2006

297/580 active Enthusiasts last week.
The number of active Enthusiasts is still climbing. It has doubled in a few months.
Last week, the best performers were Dennis Knutson, JoeLabView and Ray Farmer, with 10.14, 7.14 and 4.86 replies, respectively.
The Rays competition is still hot, with JLV ahead for the moment.

This is a wonderful trend.

Molly,

Could you do some checking and try to give us an idea what percentage of the Registered LV license base is represented by the contributors?

Ben

PS CC, thanks for dedication sir!

More thought on my previous....

What I am interested in is, "Is the Dev-Exchange growing faster or slower than the LV user base?"

Ben,

Unfortunately, I don't have access to data that can answer either of your questions.  I only have the forum data.  Let me check with Philip and see what we can share.

Great Question!
