Frequent "Sorry your request could not be completed" error messages, but the request is still completed

That might be it, Ben.

I got one of those messages tonight.  I don't know why...  I had not yet submitted the post...

I even got one while posting this post!!  I captured the screen shot.  Will post it.

Not sure if posting examples of when it happens will help, but here goes.

As you will notice, nothing special was going on while I was typing the message...

Maybe... I remember you mentioning the font size before.  I never could reproduce and font size stayed normal for me and most others.  What screen resolution are you using (and browser because I'm forgetful).

Thanks,

Laura

I am replying here since I don't know if you believe this has something to do with this issue. Wasn't sure if it belonged in the other thread regarding the most recent upgrade. I'm beginning to think that monthly forum software bug thread idea is a good idea. Got the font issue this morning right after I logged in. This is what my screen looked like right after I did a "Sign In".

I have my text size set to "Small" because when the forum upgrade was first released, all of the text looked like what you see in the "Replies", "New", "Author", "Kudos", and "Latest Post" column. If I click on a thread and then return to the message listing, then all of the fonts get set to the "Small" value, as shown in the "Subject" column.

I see this also.  Then if I hit refresh, or go to another page, everything is normal sized.

It should also be noted that this does not happen every time.

smercurio -

I have the same screen resolution, and almost the exact same browser and can't see the behavior with the small font size.  I also looked at the forum boards using your exact settings and don't see it then as well.  I've got Windows 7, you? What's the default font and font size for your browser? (Tools > Options > Content)

Anything else I'm missing?

You probably already tried this, but do you have another browser that you can log into the forums with?  If so, do you see the same behavior?

I have Windows XP. Default font: Times New Roman, 16 pt.

FYI: I see the figure I posted earlier (with the different font sizes) every time I log in now.

On IE it's worse:

Oh, and I just got the error again ("Sorry, unable to complete the action you requested") today when posting a reply to the Upconvert Requests Thread

Hi smercurio,

I have a few suggestions for you from Lithium.  They suspect the error occurs when autosave fails.  Can you send me the exact times you see the errors (when you see them again)?  They also suggested disabling adblock in Firefox and any other plugins that block referrers, javascript, or cookies.  I think you should just be able to disable these things for the NI Forums.

Would you be willing to use firebug to get the response code when you see the error?  If so, I have an example screenshot I can send you.

Thanks,

Laura
