It also appears that we are falling into step behind Dennis' stated preferences.

It also appears we have differences of opinion about distrubing the system up to the PEV level.

I would therefore propose (you have the right to over-ride) that we table discussion of the ranks up to PEV and focus on titles for above PEV.

I would like to repeat the idea of completely dropping the bars afte PEV and replace it with an icon that implies the Knightly nature, I'm thinking of a shield or family crest type thing.

If I can find time maybe I'll try to cobble together a repesentative image.

If I understand coorectly, Laura has reserved the right to select what the threshold will be.

Great one AdamB, but the icon should give the possibility to easily to differ between the different orders.

Ben, I can double your statement - Knights of NI is my choice (although I probably never will go for one of those ;)).

Excellent points everyone!  This discussion is great!

First I want to comment on the idea of adding a new rank at 1000 posts:  Although this is something I want to do, it can't be implemented right away.  The main reason is one that is mentioned - I don't have an icon for it! 

However, I do have an icon for the rank above PEV.  It's still a set of bars, so I think it would make sense to follow the Proven _____ Veteran template.  Plus, I feel we don't want to leave this template behind at a level that is too low or in the future it won't carry as much weight.  We still want people to be excited to become Proven Enthusiastic Veterans because it is quite an accomplishment!

After that rank, I see switching to a different system like "Knights of NI" to be a possibility, since everyone seems to like it so much.  It will take a little while for me to get an icon for that as well, so that will come in the future.  For now, let's vote on a name that fills in the blank of Proven ______ Veteran that would be implemented for 5,000 posts. 

I look forward to more ideas!

Wow - 5K. That's quiet hard to reach. Ok, it should werk for a long term base but how likely is it to that every community member gets to 5K? I think the distance from PAV to PEV is ok to separate the wheat from the chaff, but afterwards the next step should not increase like this. If the PxV will be reached with 5K, what is the value for the first Knight? 10K? The second order at 20K?

I think the gap between the different levels should not be to big.

I thesaurused some of these and came up with a few I like "Addict", "Maniac", and "Fanatic". 

Ok ok I think that the altruist is good, however if there is going to be another rank over altruist what would that be, "God"?

If this is a temp renaming while we change over to a new system, possible the Knights method, then its not as big of a deal.
